The East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office released details of the chilling incident that occurred on July 1. Deputies said Brad Leblanc, 32, and two others met a woman outside her home and forced her inside by threatening her with a gun.

Once inside, the woman and the man got into a physical altercation. It was then that the woman’s 12-year-old son pulled out a hunting shotgun and shot LeBlanc.

Authorities said no charges were scheduled to be filed against the child, but that the final decision would be made by a district attorney.

“At this time, the East Feliciana Sheriff’s Office has no evidence, no physical evidence at the scene and no witness testimony, we have no plans to file charges against the 12-year-old,” Sheriff Jeffrey Travis told the Advocate.

Travis said the mother was seeking treatment for the boy for the incident.
