Mixed martial arts fans have demanded to know how a grueling mixed-gender bout was sanctioned after shocking footage emerged of a male fighter beating his opponent to the ground.

The referee of the MMA-VIP event in Poland was forced to end the bout when the woman suffered a series of blows as the crowd screamed and cheered.

Spectators have described the scenes as “horrific” and “absurd.”

The Oct. 29 bout in Czestochowa featured Ula Siekacz, a well-trained arm wrestler and fitness instructor who has boasted about her muscles on social media.

However, in the octagon she was no match for Piotrek Muaboy, a mixed martial arts artist and self-described “185 cm of pure sex.”

In the video, the two are seen exchanging fairly gentle blows as they vie for the advantage in the ring.

Muaboy, who wears a black painted eye mask, lands a series of solid punches to Siekacz’s face.

However, the fitness instructor accepts the blows and recovers. But then, while attempting a takedown, she makes a terrible mistake.

Muaboy then manages to grab Siekacz and put her on her back.

She tries to wriggle out of his grip and throws several punches that connect with Muaboy’s head. But he manages to wriggle free and mount her before launching a barrage of punches.

With Siekacz pinned and unable to defend herself, the referee rushes in to stop the proceedings.

After the fight, Muaboy wrote on Instagram, “My win proves that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.”

But when footage of the grueling bout surfaced, MMA fans criticized the gender brawl.

This wasn’t the only male-female fight of the night, as “Polish Ken Doll” Michal Przybylowicz defeated Wiktoria Domżalska in another bout.
