In their first interview together since rekindling their romance, Ben had only the sweetest things to say about Jennifer – particularly the impact her career has had on others.
“All I can say is that I’ve seen firsthand what a difference representation makes because I’ve seen, time and time again, women of color come up to Jennifer and tell her what her example of a strong woman and a woman who succeeds and demands her fair share in the business world means to them,” Ben told Adweek.
He added that he was “blown away” by Jennifer’s effect on the world before explaining that he believes his career could never compare to hers.
“At my best, as an artist, I can make movies that move people. Jennifer has inspired a huge group of people to feel like they have a seat at the table in this country,” Ben noted.
He continued, “That’s an effect that few people have had throughout history, one that I will never know and one that I can only contemplate and admire with respect.”
Jennifer also acknowledged the impact of her career, and says it’s something she will never take for granted.
“It’s my blessing, and what I feel is an incredible, incredible gift that God has given me. And I don’t take it for granted. I appreciate it and I try to use it to the best of my ability,” Jennifer concluded.
