Jennifer Walsh, 22, from Edinburgh, Scotland, suffered a brain hemorrhage, two skull fractures and a punctured lung in the fall.

She also suffered a broken collarbone, broken ribs and a broken wrist, reports the Daily Record. The young woman was on vacation with a friend when she fell from a balcony on October 2.

Following the accident she was rushed to hospital to undergo life-saving brain surgery. Jennifer remains in an induced coma in the hospital.

Her devastated parents flew to be at her hospital, next door to where they are keeping vigil in hopes of bringing her home.

Sister Sara, 20, has set up a fundraising page to help pay Jennifer’s medical bills and finally bring her home, after the young traveler left Scotland without insurance.

Just under $27,151 has been raised in 10 hours and donations are still coming in. The post on the fundraising page read, “The worst 4 days of our lives. On Saturday, October 2, we received a phone call to tell us that my beautiful sister had fallen off a balcony while on vacation in Croatia.

“The fall impacted Jennifer’s body so badly that it left her with a brain hemorrhage, 2 skull fractures, a broken collarbone, a punctured lung, all ribs on the left side broken and a fractured wrist.

“Due to the fall, Jennifer instantly went into a coma. When she arrived at the hospital, she underwent life-saving brain surgery.

“Unfortunately, we thought she had travel insurance, but she did not. So we set up a Go Fund Me page to help cover the expenses.
