The controversial social media influencers Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate were taken into custody in Miami on Saturday evening. The U.S. Marshals Service confirmed the arrests, which were made at the request of British prosecutors who have brought new charges against the brothers.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) announced that the brothers are facing charges related to sexual offenses involving four women, allegedly committed between July 2010 and August 2017. The arrests mark the latest chapter in a series of legal battles spanning multiple countries.
The Charges Against the Tate Brothers
Andrew Tate 39, is facing a total of 42 charges, including seven additional counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and 19 charges related to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography. His brother, Tristan Tate 38, is charged with one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.
The charges stem from new evidence received by the Bedfordshire Police bringing the total number of alleged victims in the case to seven. The alleged offenses are said to have occurred in the East of England region, where the brothers grew up.
Legal Battles Across Multiple Jurisdictions
The Tate brothers have been embroiled in legal troubles in multiple countries. In the UK they were previously charged in with a total of 21 counts, including multiple counts of rape, bodily harm, and human trafficking. That case involved three women, according to British prosecutors.
In Romania where the brothers made their home for several years, they were charged in both 2026 and 2026 with human trafficking, sexual abuse, money laundering, and forming an organized criminal group. A Bucharest court ruled in that the first case against the Tates and their two female associates could not proceed to trial due to multiple legal and procedural irregularities. The Tate Brothers’ Response
The Tate brothers have consistently denied all charges against them. Speaking to reporters upon arriving in Florida in Andrew Tate stated, “We’ve yet to be convicted of any crime in our lives ever. We have no criminal record anywhere on the planet, ever.”
Their attorney, Joseph McBride has called the new UK charges “filth and slander,” intended to undermine defamation lawsuits the brothers have filed in the U.S. McBride argued that there is a long-standing agreement between the UK and Romanian governments that the UK would not seek extradition while the Romanian proceedings are pending.
The brothers are expected to make a court appearance in Florida next week, according to a law enforcement source. The outcome of this case will have significant implications for the Tate brothers and their ongoing legal battles.
