With a career spanning over two and a half decades, Stewart is no stranger to the healthcare industry. His extensive background as a physician, healthcare executive, and clinical informatics leader positions him uniquely to drive innovation and improve patient care through technology.
Stewart’s journey to Washington Regional
Stewart’s professional journey began in his hometown of Fort Smith, Arkansas. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology and philosophy from Southern Methodist University and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Following his education, he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at UAMS.
Before joining Washington Regional, Stewart served as the chief medical officer for Matthews Vu Medical Group in Colorado Springs, Colorado. His previous roles include vice president of clinical integration for Mercy Technology Services and a private practice in Fort Smith. Stewart is board certified in both internal medicine and clinical informatics, being part of the inaugural class of physicians to earn certification in clinical informatics through the American Board of Preventive Medicine.
