Elliot Page shed “Tears of joy” telling oprah about his happiest moments since his transition
In a statement posted on her social media accounts in December, as a transgender Elliot, she wrote: “I want to share with them that I am Trans, my pronouns he/she, and my name is Elliot.”
“I can begin to express, how remarkable it feels, to finally love who I am, enough to pursue my authentic self,” Elliot said at the time.”
“I love being trans,” he continued. “And I love that I’m queer. And the more I hold onto myself and fully embrace who I am, the more I dream, the more my heart grows and the more I thrive.”
The 34-year-old cried as he described his happiest moments since transitioning.
Elliot revealed that he had undergone the top surgery in an interview with Time in March – his first since publicly coming out as transgender.
While he stressed in the interview that top surgery is not necessary or affordable, he shares for all trans people, it was something that had completely changed his life.
“After the emotional moment, Elliot assured that his tears were” tears “of joy.”
Eliot explained in an interview, his decision to come out publicly as trans, and said it was “crucial and important” for his own spiritual well-being and for the well-being of trans people around the world.
Recalling the time when he came out as Gay in 2014, Elliot said there was “no way,” he could go back into the “closet.”
“Up until then, I had virtually never touched anyone outside of who I was in love with,” he told Oprah.
“It felt important and selfish to me, and my own well-being and my mental health” continued.
“I want to use the strength I have to help in any way I can,” Elliot said.
The rhetoric from anti-trans and anti-LGBTQ activists is devastating,” she later added.
“These bills will be responsible for the deaths of children.”
