The latest edition of the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges list has placed Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University among the nation’s elite institutions. Across its two residential campuses—Daytona Beach, Florida, and Prescott, Arizona—the university captured eight distinct top-five rankings a testament to its focus on aerospace, innovation, and support for student veterans.
President P. Barry Butler, Ph.D., emphasized that the institution’s mission is to equip graduates for high-impact roles in aviation, space exploration, cybersecurity, and related sectors. The breadth of the accolades reflects that ambition, signaling both academic rigor and real-world relevance.

Both campuses secured the No. 2 position in their respective regional categories—South for Daytona Beach and West for Prescott—according to the rankings published online on September 22. In addition, the university amassed a total of 11 separate top-10 honors, underscoring a consistent level of excellence across multiple metrics.
Daytona Beach campus achievements
The Florida campus distinguished itself in several key categories. It claimed the No. 1 spot among Top Private Colleges and placed second in the Best Colleges for Veterans list. Innovation also ranked high, with a No. 3 finish in the Most Innovative Schools category.
Academically, the undergraduate Aerospace Engineering program at Daytona Beach earned a national No. 6 ranking among institutions that offer a doctoral option. This places the program alongside the country’s most prestigious engineering schools and highlights the university’s capability to deliver advanced, research-oriented curricula.
Veteran-focused recognition
Daytona Beach’s commitment to serving those who have served is evident in its placement as the No. 2 Best Colleges for Veterans. The designation evaluates resources such as counseling, tutoring, and financial aid tailored to veteran students, confirming Embry-Riddle’s dedication to this community.
Prescott campus highlights
The Arizona campus mirrored its sister location with a No. 2 regional ranking in the West and a matching No. 2 rank among Top Private Colleges. It also secured the top position in the Best for Veterans category for the sixth year running, reaffirming its status as a veteran-friendly environment.
From a value perspective, Prescott achieved an impressive No. 8 placement in the Best Value Schools category, which balances academic quality against tuition costs and financial-aid outcomes.
Program-level honors in aerospace engineering
Prescott’s undergraduate Aerospace Engineering program attained the No. 1 national ranking for schools without a Ph.D. offering, repeating its top spot from the previous year. This distinction showcases the campus’s ability to deliver a comprehensive, industry-aligned education without the need for doctoral research pathways.

Earlier in the year, Embry-Riddle’s online undergraduate offerings were also recognized, ranking highest among private institutions and No. 11 nationwide. The university now educates more than 31,000 learners across its two main campuses, a global network of 115 Worldwide Campus locations, and a robust suite of online programs.
