The series, set to premiere on Peacock on October 15 offers a fresh perspective on the franchise, focusing on the character who started it all.

In a recent interview, Cardellini shared her excitement about playing a character who is typically the antagonist. “Everything that I’ve ever read that was handed to me that was in that space was for the person who was being chased, not the person who was chasing everyone,” she revealed. This time, she gets to explore the mindset of the pursuer, adding a new layer to the horror genre.

Cardellini also hinted at the series’ unique tone, describing it as “odd” and “many things at once.” She mentioned a scene set in an outdoor carnival, which adds a surreal and unsettling atmosphere to the narrative. Cardellini teased that while there will be moments of pure horror, there will also be a lot of story to engage viewers.
