As WSVN reports, Alyandra Valdes arrived home around 7 a.m. Monday morning after dropping her daughter off at school as usual to find a man smashing her daughter’s bedroom window with a blunt object.

When the girl’s mother parked her car, the door to her Palmetto Bay home was open. She looked at it.

“I got out of my car, no gun, no nothing, and went around back to see what was going on,” the woman told WSVN.

The Florida homeowner says she noticed a man trying to break in through her daughter’s window with a crowbar. The suspect then approached her, but was able to escape. The suspect, who was wearing dark clothing and a black cap, fled in an older gray pickup truck.

The woman told WSVN that the suspect’s timing shows he may have studied her daily routine to know when her house was empty. He could have done it at any other time.

While she hopes Miami-Dade police find the suspect as soon as possible, she wants to warn others through social media.

Because of the attempted burglary, Alyandra and her daughter will stay with the family while the broken window is being repaired. Valdes also wants to increase security at home.

“It’s scary to think he could come back because he couldn’t finish what he needed to,” she said.
