“It stopped being about the things that made me love the sport,” he reflected. This realization led him to reconsider his future. With the support of his trainers, who encouraged him to finish his education, Troy took a step back during the COVID-19 pandemic to reassess his goals.
It was during this time that he rediscovered his passion for wrestling, reigniting the fire that had burned within him since childhood.
A leap of faith into wrestling
After deciding to pursue wrestling full-time, Troy’s journey took a significant turn.
He participated in a WWE tryout, where he felt an immediate connection to the sport he had idolized for years. “It was a whole new experience for me,” he said, recalling the excitement of stepping into the ring. This pivotal moment solidified his decision to leave football behind and fully commit to becoming a WWE superstar.
