A physically fit and courageous delivery man climbed up the facade of a residential building in Wuhan and saved a family trapped by fire from the flames. Neighbors and passersby cheered him on and filmed the scene from the sidewalk.
Hero delivery driver saves Chinese family’s lives in Wuhan apartment fire
The man didn’t think twice, although he didn’t have much time to do it either. He climbed up the facade, leaning on the balconies and cornices to reach the apartment where the family had been trapped by the flames.
The burning apartment was on the second floor of a building in the city of Wuhan, Hubei province, in central China.
The images, recorded by passers-by and neighbors who cheered him on from the sidewalk, reveal the moment when the man pulled them out one by one, father, mother and daughter, helping them to get out through the terrace of the apartment, from where black smoke was billowing out.
The Wuhan Fire Department awarded a medal and a certificate to the man for his courage in a life-saving performance that saved the lives of several people.
