The restaurant chain, which is famous for the tight-fitting uniforms required for female employees, known as “Hooters Girls,” reportedly unveiled the new shorter version of its uniform shorts this month.

Since the release of the new shorts, many Hooters staff members have taken to social media to share their disappointment and concerns about the new uniforms and some have threatened to quit.

In one TikTok, shared by a user using the name @sick.abt.it, which has been viewed more than nine million times, a female employee held up the new higher-cut shorts before comparing them to the previous ones, writing, “I love my job, but I don’t love wearing underwear to work.”

In another viral video shared on the social media platform, a Hooters employee, who uses the user name @ggnguyen, showed off the new design while asking, “what’s supposed to go in here?”

Others denounced the restaurant’s double standards, with one employee, who uses the username @carrlee.j, also showing the difference in size between the new uniform shorts and the previous version, before stating that, when the company hires new staff, “we’re told we have to make sure our butts are covered, but they give us this?”

The numerous videos led TikTok viewers to agree with the concerns in the comments, with many stating that the shorts could not be considered “shorts.”

“Shorts is a strong word,” commented one person, while another said, “Those are not shorts they are bikini bottoms.”
