Authorities in Quebec have announced a reward of up to $50,000 in an effort to locate Liam Gabriel Toman, a 22-year-old from Ontario. This initiative seeks to gather information regarding Toman’s disappearance during a ski trip at Mont-Tremblant in early February.
Toman was last seen in the early hours of February 2, after spending an evening with friends at Le P’tit Caribou, a popular bar in the resort village. Witnesses reported seeing him around 3:20 a.m., shortly before he vanished.
Details of the search
The reward, sponsored by Sun Youth and anonymous contributors, will remain active until May 20, 2026. It is available to anyone providing information that leads to Toman’s discovery. His family and local authorities are hopeful that this financial incentive will encourage individuals to come forward.
Toman is described as five feet nine inches tall, weighing approximately 130 pounds. He has hazel eyes and brown hair. On the night he disappeared, he was wearing a black Volcom jacket, black snow pants, a green sweater, a plaid shirt, and a distinctive white hat with dark stripes.
Family’s efforts in the search
Toman’s parents have actively participated in the search efforts, relocating to the area near the resort and joining local volunteers in ground searches. They have covered hundreds of kilometers, searching areas up to 20 kilometers away from the resort in hopes of finding their son.
“We’ve had some training on how to track and how to do this type of work,” stated Kathleen Toman, Liam’s mother. “We understand the necessary precautions and what to look for in these environments.” Their commitment is evident as they continue to scour forests and swamps.
Investigative progress
Following Toman’s disappearance, authorities have conducted extensive searches using helicopters and diving teams in local bodies of water. The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) confirmed that the investigation remains open and has not ruled out foul play. A critical lead in the case was the discovery of Toman’s wallet by a citizen near parking lot P1, close to the area where surveillance footage captured a shadow that may have been him.
Police have employed various methods to search for Toman, including foot patrols and aerial searches, focusing on areas that are challenging to access. Their efforts reflect the urgency and seriousness of the situation, as they seek any clues that could help resolve the mystery of Toman’s whereabouts.
Call to the community
The local community has been vital in the search, with numerous volunteers joining the Toman family in their quest for answers. The family has established an online platform to share updates and gather information, aiming to keep the public informed and engaged. “We urge anyone who may have seen Liam or has any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to reach out,” said Chris Toman, Liam’s father. “Every detail could be crucial in finding our son.”
Anyone with potential leads is encouraged to contact the Sûreté du Québec’s information line at 1-800-659-4264. The family hopes that the combination of reward money and community involvement will lead to significant breakthroughs in the search for Liam.
