The London Knights honor their standout players at the 2024-25 season awards ceremony.

Celebrating excellence on the ice

On June 4, the London Knights took center stage at Canada Life Place to celebrate their remarkable 2024-25 season. This event was not just about the trophies, including the prestigious Hamilton Spectator Trophy and the J.

Ross Robertson Cup; it was a night dedicated to recognizing individual excellence among the players. The Knights clinched three major team awards, solidifying their status as the Ontario Hockey League champions and Memorial Cup champions.

Highlighting the top performers

The evening was filled with excitement as the Knights announced the winners of various individual awards.

Austin Elliott received the Peter Guertin Longshot Award, while Jared Woolley was honored as the Vaughn Custom Sports Most Improved Player. Denver Barkey shone brightly, taking home both the Coulter’s Pharmacy 3 Star Award and the Fan Favourite title. The team also recognized the hard work of players like Sam O’Reilly and Oliver Bonk, who shared the Abakar Kazbekov Hardest Working Player award.

The intensity and dedication displayed by Easton Cowan and Landon Sim earned them the Intensity Award, showcasing the competitive spirit of the Knights.

Looking ahead to the future

As the Knights celebrated their achievements, they also took a moment to honor potential graduates.

This bittersweet occasion marked the end of an era for players like Jacob Julien, Auston Elliott, and Landon Sim, who have officially graduated. Julien has signed with the Winnipeg Jets, while Sim will join the Toronto Marlboros. Elliott is set to continue his journey at UMass-Lowell in the NCAA.

With the NHL Draft Combine approaching, draft-eligible players like Henry Brzustewicz and Aleksei Medvedev are preparing for their next big step. The future of the Knights looks promising, especially with the uncertainty surrounding Sam Dickinson, the team’s MVP, who may have the opportunity to join the San Jose Sharks in the NHL.
