London Knights celebrate their 10-3 win over Ottawa 67's
The London Knights showcase their dominance with a stunning 10-3 victory against the Ottawa 67's.

This past Sunday, the London Knights delivered a stunning performance against the Ottawa 67’s, securing a resounding 10-3 victory that showcased their offensive firepower. The game, held in Ottawa, saw Knights captain Denver Barkey and defenceman Sam Dickinson each achieving remarkable five-point days, with Barkey contributing one goal and four assists, while Dickinson netted two goals and three assists.

This victory marks the Knights’ 18th consecutive win, solidifying their position as a formidable force in the league.

First Period: A Quick Start

The Knights wasted no time in asserting their dominance, scoring on four of their first seven shots, which led to the early exit of rookie Ottawa goaltender Jaeden Nelson.

The offensive onslaught began with a beautiful setup from Blake Montgomery to Jesse Nurmi, who scored his fourth goal of the season. Dickinson quickly followed up, finishing a slick passing play from Sam O’Reilly and Barkey, making it 2-0.

Just moments later, Dickinson assisted Ottawa native Oliver Bonk, who backhanded a shot past Nelson, extending the lead to 3-0. The Knights continued to capitalize on their opportunities, with O’Reilly deflecting a Dickinson shot to make it 4-0 before the end of the first period.

Second Period: Maintaining Momentum

The second period saw the Knights continue their scoring spree, taking advantage of a major penalty to Frankie Marrelli. They scored twice in quick succession, with both O’Reilly and Dickinson finding the back of the net again.

Barkey then converted a beautiful passing play from Jacob Julien and Evan Van Gorp, pushing the score to 7-0. By the end of the second period, the Knights had scored eight goals on just 14 shots, showcasing their efficiency and power play prowess, which had converted four out of three opportunities.

Third Period: A Strong Finish

As the third period commenced, Blake Montgomery added to the Knights’ tally with a penalty shot goal, making it 9-0. Despite the Knights’ commanding lead, the Ottawa 67’s managed to break Alexei Medvedev’s shutout streak with a goal from Nic Whitehead. The 67’s continued to fight back, with Jack Dever and Caden Kelly also scoring in the final period. However, Landon Sim capped off the Knights’ scoring with their fifth power-play goal of the day, concluding the game at 10-3. Interestingly, despite the scoreline, Ottawa outshot London 40-26, highlighting the Knights’ efficiency in front of the net.

Looking Ahead: Teddy Bear Toss and Upcoming Matches

The Knights are gearing up for their annual Teddy Bear Toss event on December 4 at Canada Life Place, where fans are encouraged to bring stuffed toys to donate to the Salvation Army. Last year, the event set a record with over 11,924 toys collected, and the Knights are hoping to surpass that number this year. Following the Teddy Bear Toss, the Knights will face the Owen Sound Attack for the fourth time this season, with all previous encounters proving to be tightly contested. Fans can catch the action live, with coverage starting at 6 p.m. on 980 CFPL and various streaming platforms.
