An unusual incident has come to light during a wedding in India, in which a man attempted to visit his bride on her wedding day by slipping away as a bride.

The footage shows a man dressed as a woman, on his knees, as he is confronted by a group of men.

In the Bhadohi district of Uttar Pradesh, a northern Indian state, DNA India reports that the man disguised himself as a bride to visit his lover who was due to marry another man on the same day.

But later, his carada was quickly rumored by suspicious family members due to his body language.

As soon as he removed his veil, he confronted the reason why he was there with India.com, adding that he was also beaten.

India Today journalist Aditya Bidwai has shared a short video about the incident in which he jokes, “This only happens in India.”

When the situation escalated, the man was able to escape and two friends followed him on bicycles, the motorcycles waiting for him in front of the house before the police were contacted.

Despite the incident, no police report has been filed against the young man and no one knows why he decided to try to infiltrate the wedding dressed as another bride.

This is just one of a series of unusual wedding stories that have emerged in India in recent days.

Earlier this week, a woman died during her wedding ceremony, leading both families to agree that her sister should take her place and marry the groom.
