Johnny Ray Aldridge, 46, of St. Paul, called police early Tuesday to report that he had shot his wife, Caitlin Aldridge, 41, after an argument over their 13-year-old daughter, according to a criminal complaint obtained by The Post.

Aldridge said his wife had told him their daughter was pregnant and that she believed the woman had been “prostituting” the teenager, which led to an argument.

“They got into a fight in bed,” court documents say. “Caitlin laughed that her daughter was pregnant. Her response so enraged Aldridge that he shot her once in the back of the head with the gun he kept under his pillow.”

Aldridge, who went to the Ramsey County Law Enforcement Center to report the murder, told officers that the gun he used to kill his wife was in his Chevrolet Tahoe, court documents show.

When asked why he shot his wife to death, Aldridge replied, “Because my daughter is pregnant and I had grown men coming over to do crazy things with my daughter,” court documents show.

Meanwhile, the couple’s daughter told police they had been married for about 10 years and that Johnny Aldridge “wasn’t himself” after being shot in the hand in June. He was carrying a gun because he was scared, she said.

Johnny Aldridge had asked his daughter to have a rape kit done, as he believed she was pregnant after being sexually assaulted.

A pregnancy test later came back negative and the teen repeatedly denied being sexually assaulted, court documents show.

Aldridge, charged with second-degree murder, faces up to 40 years in prison if convicted. He is being held on $1 million bail ahead of his first court appearance, scheduled for Thursday, KSTP reported.
