Undercover operation leads to shocking discoveries

In a dramatic turn of events, a New Jersey spa has been thrust into the spotlight following a police raid that unveiled a shocking amount of cash and luxury items. The operation, which took place at Bliss Spa in Edison, was the culmination of a yearlong undercover investigation targeting illegal activities disguised as legitimate business operations.

The owner, 47-year-old Daniela Diienno, along with four other women, was arrested during the raid, which has been described as the largest asset seizure in the township’s history.

Luxury items and hidden cash

Authorities seized an astonishing $650,000 in cash from Diienno’s home, including a staggering sum of $600,000 cleverly concealed within a teddy bear.

The raid also uncovered a brand new 2025 Tesla Model Y, along with high-end watches from Rolex and Cartier. In addition to the cash found at her residence, police recovered another $104,373 from the spa owner’s bank accounts, highlighting the scale of the illicit operation.

Edison Police Chief Tom Bryan emphasized the sophistication of these illegal enterprises, stating, “The amount of cash seized and the elaborate concealment methods used show just how sophisticated and profitable these illegal operations can be.”

Charges and community impact

Diienno faces serious charges, including first-degree money laundering and second-degree promoting organized street crime.

The other women arrested were charged with engaging in or soliciting prostitution, although their specific roles in the operation remain unclear. The spa’s business license has been suspended due to multiple health code violations, marking a significant step in the local government’s efforts to crack down on establishments linked to prostitution and narcotics.

Mayor Sam Joshi stated that this initiative aims to restore safety and integrity to the community, reflecting a broader commitment to tackling organized crime in the area.
