Peacock unveils star-studded The Traitors season 6 lineup

Peacock confirmed on September 18 that The Traitors will return in 2027 for its sixth installment, this time featuring a blend of reality-TV royalty, seasoned actors, and elite athletes. The show transports a mixed group of participants to a remote Scottish castle where they must collaborate on challenges to grow a prize fund while a hidden minority, known as the Traitors work covertly to eliminate the rest, the Faithful. The stakes are high: successful deception earns the traitors the entire pot, whereas vigilant faithful players aim to expose the saboteurs before they’re “murdered” from the game.

Real Housewives dominate the new alliance

Among the most talked-about arrivals are three members of the Real Housewives franchise. Bronwyn Newport trades the Utah desert for the misty Highlands, joining veteran Cynthia Bailey of Atlanta and Gizelle Bryant from Potomac. Their established on-screen chemistry is expected to shape early alliances, providing a familiar power bloc that could dictate voting dynamics. The trio’s participation signals Peacock’s strategy of leveraging existing fan bases to boost viewership, especially as the series expands its global footprint.

Sports champions and entertainers add fresh flair

Beyond the housewives, the roster boasts a surprising mix of athletes and performers. Two-time Olympic gold-medalist Chloe Kim celebrated for her snowboarding prowess, enters as a potential physical powerhouse in challenge-based tasks. Former NFL running back Rashad Jennings brings competitive grit from his stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders and New York Giants. Musician-turned-athlete Cody Simpson and former Love Island contestants JaNa Craig and Iain Stirling round out the lineup, promising a cross-genre clash of personalities. Additional notable names include actor Dominic Monaghan (known from The Lord of the Rings and Lost), drag queen Bianca Del Rio and Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth each adding a layer of star power that broadens the show’s appeal.

What the renewal means for the franchise

The cast announcement follows Peacock’s earlier decision to extend The Traitors for three more seasons, a move buoyed by a clean sweep of seven Emmy Awards, including a third consecutive win for Outstanding Reality Competition Program and another for host Alan Cumming. The network is also launching a spin-off, The Traitors: New Blood which premiered on September 17 and features an all-civilian lineup selected from over 80,000 applicants. This expansion underscores NBCUniversal’s confidence in the format, originally devised by IDTV and RTL, and its ability to attract both celebrity participants and everyday contestants. As the series moves into 2027, viewers can expect heightened production values, deeper strategic gameplay, and a broader cultural conversation as the show continues to merge reality television tropes with classic social deduction mechanics.
