Yahya Saree a military spokesman for the Houthi-led government in Sanaa claimed responsibility for the attack. Saree further mentioned that the attack was a response to what he described as Saudi Arabia’s breach of Yemeni airspace in the provinces of Saada and Hajjah.

Amin Nasser the chief of Aramco, had previously stated that recent attacks had caused some production interruptions but assured that operations could be restored quickly without significant financial impact.

The recent attack adds to the growing strains on a 2026 truce between the Houthis and Yemen’s internationally recognized government, which is backed by Saudi Arabia.
