The poacher was trampled to death by the herd of the huge animals in South Africa’s Kruger National Park.

South Africa’s National Parks said in a statement on its website that the man and two accomplices were fleeing from park security officers.

The rangers spotted three individuals attempting to escape, but called in support from the air unit and the K9 unit.

When they realized they had been spotted, the suspected poachers threw an axe and a bag with their supplies in an attempt to escape from the rangers.

“They managed to catch one of the suspects thanks to aerial units and dogs.”

The Rangers discovered their Accomplex battered and unfortunately succumbing to his injuries.”

One of the suspects was apparently wounded in the eyes, but continued to flee.

The rifle was recovered and the case was reported to the police, who along with the pathology team attended the scene.

Kruger National Park’s managing director, Gareth Coleman, said, “We are proud of the teamwork and dedication of our rangers, our aviators and the K9 unit.

It is unfortunate that a life was lost unnecessarily.”

Only through discipline, teamwork and tenacity can we help curb rhino poaching.

“The anti-poaching campaign is the responsibility of all of us; it cuts across many livelihoods, destroys families and takes away much needed resources to fight crime that could be used for job creation and development.”

“Residents around the Kruger National Park have been told to be on the lookout for the third suspect.”

According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature, there are about 415,000 elephants left in Africa
