Understanding the tragedy
In a heartbreaking incident that unfolded late Saturday night, five individuals lost their lives in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 101, near Falmouth, Nova Scotia. The crash involved a Honda Civic and a Nissan Sentra, both traveling eastbound when they collided around 11 p.m.

The victims
The victims of this horrific crash include a 43-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman, both from Falmouth, who were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Nissan Sentra, a 45-year-old woman from Oxford, and her passenger, a 58-year-old man from Nappan, were also declared dead at the site of the accident. Additionally, two other passengers from the Sentra were taken to the hospital, with one, a 50-year-old man from Oxford, later succumbing to his injuries.
The other passenger, a 29-year-old man from British Columbia, remains in critical condition after being airlifted to a hospital.
