29-year-old man kills 64-year-old woman to sexually abuse her corpse

Colby Martin, a 29-year-old man from Michigan, USA, is accused of fatally running over a 64-year-old woman. He did it, allegedly, to sexually abuse her corpse. Pending trial, he is being held in the Van Buren County Jail.

The events occurred on September 21, 2021, when the victim, like every day, went for a walk in Oak Shores. Then, Colby Martin ran over the 64-year-old woman and, subsequently, moved her body to a wooded area of St.

Joseph County, where, as DNA tests have shown, he sexually abused her, according to New York Post.

A day after the crime, investigators arrested the suspect. His vehicle, which was parked at a supermarket in Oshtemo Township, had damage to the front end.

After being arrested, he led them to the area where the victim’s body was located.

Colby Martin was not initially charged with murder; he was charged with manslaughter and concealing a body. Thus, although he was imprisoned, bail was set at $300,00.

Martin was then released from jail and moved in with his girlfriend in Big Rapids.

Arrested after checking DNA on victim’s body and defendant’s internet search history

However, as part of the investigation, they checked DNA evidence on the woman’s body, as well as the suspect’s internet search history, which included results of pornography featuring dead or unconscious women.

In addition, they discovered that he had his victim’s cell phone and had tried to hide other evidence related to the crime.

For all these reasons, the police proceeded to his arrest and Colby Martin was again admitted, this time without bail, to the Van Buren County Jail, awaiting reports and more evidence from the Prosecutor’s Office, which -according to his lawyer- justify the increase of charges.
