According to Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy Thomas Gilliland, “she was struck by another vehicle that failed to stop.” Sources report.
The accident caused onlookers to be visually stunned at what happened. “A lot of people were very traumatized by what happened.”
Detectives say the motive for the argument is still unclear, however, the girl’s mother is cooperating with authorities. As for the driver of the vehicle that fled the scene, investigators are still looking for information that will lead them.
According to reports, he could be charged, although there is a possibility that he did not know what happened, authorities said.
“We have to find that person and find out what happened,” Deputy Gilliland said. “Maybe they didn’t realize it, but once they hit [the girl], they should have realized it was a body and not debris or something.”
He added, “They may not have had time to stop, but once you hit a person, you have to stop.”
