The community of Merced, California, is shocked after a terrible event occurred Wednesday at the Le Grand apartment complex after a mother murdered her three children, ages 8, 5, and 3.

It appears that the mother of the deceased children, identified as Patricia Ortiz, is the main suspect in the multiple murders.
Le Grand is characterized because most of its inhabitants are Latino families and it is a small community where everyone knows each other, which is why the neighbors are distressed and it is believed that they were the ones who called the authorities.
According to local media, the bodies of the three children, identified as Anna Ortiz (eight years old), Mateo (five years old) and Alexa (three years old), were found Wednesday around 2 p.m. at their mother’s house, after she picked them up from school.
For the moment, the authorities have not given details of how the children were killed, nor how their bodies were found.
According to what Daryl Allen, spokesman for the county sheriff’s office, told Telemundo, the crime scene shocked them too much, especially because they were “three dead babies”.
Upon arrival, they also found a woman on the ground who had apparently tried to take her own life, so she was taken to a medical center. Moments later they were able to identify her as the mother of the babies.
So far, the woman is the main suspect in the crime and it is expected that, after her recovery at the clinic, she could be transferred to the county penitentiary center on homicide charges.
Meanwhile, investigations are expected to determine the mother’s motives for committing this heinous act and also to find out if there may be someone else involved.
