Former U.S. President Donald Trump has been less than pleased with the women’s national soccer team winning bronze at the Tokyo Olympics.

The team captained by the media Megan Rapinoe, was the great favorite for gold, but had to settle for the last step of the podium after being eliminated by Canada in the semifinals and beating Australia in the third and fourth place (3-4).

Trump, who has it in for Rapinoe, very critical of his policies, who refused to visit the White House after the last World Cup and very close to Joe Biden in the last election campaign, has been quick to call what happened to the team in Japan a failure.

“Everything that is ‘woke’ goes wrong and our soccer team has certainly gone wrong,” Trump wrote in a statement to the press, referring to a term (‘woke’) that refers to those who show their public discontent with social and racial injustice in the United States.

“We need more people and athletes who respect our country and our anthem,” he said, faced with the attitude of some of them when it was played at these Games.

Trump, against Rapinoe

“If our soccer team, led by a radical group of leftist maniacs, had not woken up, they would have won the gold medal instead of the bronze, explained in his statement

“The purple-haired woman played terribly. She spends too much time thinking about radical leftist politics instead of doing her job,” Trump said alluding to Rapinoe’s look but without mentioning her.
