The actor honored the memory of Kelly Preston on Sunday in honor of his first Mother’s Day without her.

Travolta took to Instagram on Sunday to share a pair of snapshots of Preston with his followers, along with a touching message celebrating her legacy.

“Dear Kelly, you brought three of the most wonderful children I have ever known into my life,” Travolta wrote.

“We love you and miss you. Happy Mother’s Day,” he continued, writing.

The post included two family photos, the first with Travolta and Preston lying on a bed with their daughter.

The second photo showed the proud parents smiling with their son Jett, who died in 2009 at age 16.

Sunday marked the first Mother’s Day Travolta’s family celebrated without Preston after his death.

Travolta and Preston were married for 28 years after tying the knot in 1991.

In April, Travolta opened up in an interview with Esquire Spain, reflecting on how he has coped with the grief of losing his wife.

“I learned that grieving for a person is a very personal thing,” Travolta told the publication.

“Grief is individual and experiencing your own journey is what can lead to healing,” Travolta continued.

Finally, he said, “The most important thing you can do to help another person when they are grieving is to allow them to live it and not complicate it with your own.”

Travolta, whom we remember, suffered the 2009 loss of his 16-year-old son.
