On July 15, 2026 officers intercepted a tractor trailer arriving from Reynosa, Mexico uncovering $2,781,000 worth of alleged cocaine cleverly hidden within a shipment of bottled beverages.

A subsequent physical inspection revealed 79 packages of alleged cocaine, with a combined weight of 208.33 lbs. (94.5 kg.) concealed within the trailer.
Port Director Carlos Rodriguez of the Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry highlighted the significance of the interception. “This successful operation demonstrates the effectiveness of our layered enforcement strategy. Through the combination of advanced technology and the keen instincts of our frontline personnel, we continue to identify and dismantle smuggling attempts,” Rodriguez stated.
