A high school drama teacher in Hialeah, Florida, was arrested for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old student in her car on several occasions over the past two months.

Brittiny Lopez Murray, 31, was arrested Monday night on multiple felony charges, including lewd battery, sexual abuse and engaging in a sexual act with a child.
The Miami-Dade school district, the fourth largest in the United States and the largest in Florida, said Lopez Murray, has been a teacher for four years with “no disciplinary record.”
Hialeah High School, had named Lopez Murray “rookie teacher of the year” in 2017.
The school district in a statement Monday night that it was “saddened and disappointed by these serious allegations given that the district takes great measures to ensure that our students are educated in safe learning environments.”
The process has been initiated for the termination of Lopez Murray’s employment, officials said, adding that she will be barred from seeking future employment with this district.
According to police, the teacher began a “relationship” with the teen in August. The teen is now a high school student in Hialeah and used to be a student at Lopez Murray.
The student’s sister was allegedly suspicious of her brother’s behavior on the phone.
She allegedly saw “explicit text messages and photos” exchanged between the two.
The teen’s father had allegedly seen the teacher send explicit photos to the student.
The student allegedly told police that Lopez Murray had sent him a text message in August 2021 “where she expressed her feelings for him.”
They later met for coffee, which led to multiple sex acts in her car on multiple dates, according to police.
