The Five Star Weekend has been given the green light for a second season by Peacock following its remarkable success as the streamer’s top-performing scripted series. The series, based on Elin Hilderbrand’s novel, has captivated audiences with its compelling narrative and stellar cast.
Since its premiere on July 9 the series has amassed an impressive 2.1 billion minutes watched solidifying its position as Peacock’s most-watched scripted original. The renewal comes as no surprise, given the show’s widespread acclaim and the initial deals that left the door open for further seasons.
The Cast Returns for Another Season
The series, which was initially announced as a limited series, has secured the return of its leading ladies. Jennifer GarnerD’Arcy CardenRegina Hall and Chloë Sevigny are all set to reprise their roles for the second season. However, Gemma Chan will not be returning, given her character’s storyline in the first season.
There are currently no deals in place for Harlow Jane and Timothy Olyphant to return full-time, leaving their futures with the series uncertain.

The season one finale hinted at the direction the series might take. As the characters parted ways after their weekend in NantucketBrooke (played by Carden) suggested making the get-together an annual event, with Greece as the next destination. This aligns with the epilogue in Hilderbrand’s original novel, which features an Italian trip for the four women, with Chan’s character, Gigi piloting their flight home.
