A woman was shot by her ex-husband in their home after shooting her four times, the subject entered through the back window and opened fire on the victim, all this happened while the couple’s four children were inside the house.

A woman was injured after her ex-husband shot her four times in their Tomball home, authorities said.

The shooting happened about 3:14 a.m. Monday at a home on Memorial Crossing Drive near Memorial Falls Drive in the Memorial Springs area, authorities said.

The ex-husband cut the power to the home, entered through a rear window and opened fire on his ex-wife, all while the couple’s four children were inside the home, authorities said.

Investigators believe there had been ongoing problems between the woman, her ex-husband and his new girlfriend.

Authorities said the couple was scheduled for a court hearing on custody of their four children, ages 5 to 12, later Monday. Based on the outcome, it is believed that the custody issue could be the cause of the incident.

The woman is expected to survive her injuries, meanwhile agents said they believe the girlfriend was with the ex-husband at the time of the shooting, now both are being sought by authorities.
